art journal *Shimmerz*

After seeing all the gorgeous art journal pages I decided to give it a go too.
Don't have anything to show you yet but next year I will try to make some pages.
Made the front cover of this A4 journal with lots and lots of Shimmerz!!

A used my favorite technique to start with:
Glueing paper kitchen towel on the journal with gesso.
Embellished with lots of flowers, dew drops, beads, buttons, metal pieces and a metal frame.
Spraying and painting with all the colors and added some water to let them run.
And the last step: a coat with gesso for the finishing touch.

For this journal I used the following colors:
Coloringz: No yoking
Spritz: Bed of Roses
Spritz: Plum Pudding
Vibez: Princess
Vibez: Jeni B Blue
Blingz: Flashee Fushia
Shimmerz: Sunny
Shimmerz: Magenta
Shimmerz: Key Lime
Shimmerz: Coffee

Here are some close-ups:
Some chipboard letters.

Some dew drops as an extra element.

Using up some flowers from my stash.

Added some small pearls for extra texture.

This gorgeous metal frame was found at a local flea market.

Chipboard letters from Imaginarium Design.

An extra touch with gesso using a sponge.

Randomly splattered some paint.

I love the way the light touch of gesso shows the cracks of the paper towel.

Enjoy your day!

Christmas canvas

Are you ready for Christmas?
I didn't had the time this year to make all my cards so with this canvas I want to wish all of my creative friends and family a wonderful Christmas and all the best for 2015!!

I started this piece by glueing all the embellishments: lace, flowers, gears, beads, metal corners.
Give it all two coats of gesso before painting the colors.
After drying I gave it an extra touch of gesso to soften it up a bit.

This tree was made with some rolled pieces of kitchen paper towel.
In between I layered some threads.

Enjoy the holidays!

create *Shimmerz*

Today I have a canvas for you using the paints from Shimmerz.
It's a larger canvas than usual, 50x20cm / 20x8inch.

I glued 3 mini canvas on the big one and started to make some texture using dome kitchen paper towel.
Added the flowers, buttons, gears and beads.
After glueing all the embellishments it was time for all the paint!

And here some details: (oke...a lot! LOL)
The chipboard gears are from Scrap-Unlimited.

Flowers from 13Arts

Chipboard from Dusty Attic.
Metal handles on each of the mini canvases are from Scrap-Unlimited.

Found this metal butterfly at a home decor store.

Painted all the flowers and gave them a touch of gesso.

Lots of dimension in this piece.

Randomly added a mix of gesso and glass filler from 13Arts.

Really love these colors together!

Had a lot of fun creating this!
Hope this will inspire you to create too!

Enjoy your day!

two cards *Maja Design*

I just love to sent cards to family and friends. I was almost running out so I decided to make some more. You can never have enough cards he? :)
Made these with the *A Gift for you* collection.

I used the *sent with love* sheet for the background.
Cut some strips of the *hope to see you soon* sheet.
Also added some bits of masking tape and some lace.

Added some modeling paste on the background using a template.
Some paint splatters for an extra color touch.
Made the circles with a white pen.

A lovely cluster of Scrapberry's flowers and resins and some gauze,
together with some ribbon flowers and twigs from 13 Arts.

Added some flat turquoise pearls for an extra touch.

And here is my second card:
The text paper is from the *hope to see you soon* sheet.
Some punched flowers are also from this sheet, added with a brad.

The resins and the white/turquoise flowers are from Scrapberry's

Some turquoise stitching.

Papers used:
* hope to see you soon
