lighthouse 60cm *Maja Design*

Today I want to show you this big lighthouse. It's 60cm!
Made this with the Vintage Baby collection form Maja Design.

I started this project by cutting small strips of the papers for the body of the lighthouse.

I attached a round canvas for extra stability of the lighthouse.
Filled this extra space with flowers, shells, pieces of wood and some netting.

I distressed all the edges of the strips.

Made this 'to the beach' sign with a piece of the paper.
Outlined the edges and the text with a brown fine liner.

This rope was a bit to yellow so I gave it a coat of gesso to match the project.

The flowers got a touch of the gesso as well.

Some rolled flowers.

television *13arts*

Today I want to share this fun project with you.
I found this photo frame on sale and by adding an antenna it became a television! :)
With a photo of my two daughters, this must be my favorite channel for sure!

The inside is a piece of the All is Love papers.
The outside was created by glueing some kitchen paper towel.
I used the 13arts acrylic gel medium for this.
Placed all the gears and buttons.
This all got a firm coat of gesso.
Once dry, I added all the paints.
Some old jeans buttons became the control buttons and
some metal wire were turned and twisted into an antenna.

The flowers were colored with the same paints.
Love to color my flowers in matching colors!
Except the lace flower, all the other flowers can be found in the store as well.

A piece of the decorative ribbon jets.
Perfect for adding extra texture.

A metal piece from Scrapberry's.

Some gear chipboard, mini buttons and colored flowers.

And of course some 13arts twigs!

layout for my girl *Maja Design*

Today I want to share a layout with you.
Photo is of my youngest girl, Yiscka.
A few more days and she will be back from the States.
She has ended her internship and hopefully she will get her diploma this summer.
Pffff...almost seven months without my girl, but I'm so proud of her!
So this page is for you sweetie........with all my heart.

Started creating the background wit a mix of gesso and magic powder from 13arts.
Made a thick mixture and added it to the page with a spatula.
This will give it a great crackled effect!
Added some Distress stain dabber to create the splashes.

Made this page with the Vintage Baby collection from Maja Design.
Wanted to show you that these papers are so versatile and can be used,
not only for your little babies, but also for your older precious ones!
For this page I choose the blue and brown papers.

This heart was in my stash for a while.
Gave it a coat of gesso and some ink.
Also added some brown pearls.

The flowers are from Prima and one of them is colored with some paint from 13arts.

This word "special"is from the bottom strip of the Ephemera cards sheet.

The butterflies are from Prima.
Printed and cut the title and outlined them with a brown fine liner.

Maja papers used:
Sweet little Prince
Journaling cards
Die cuts
Ephemera cards

Enjoy your day!

glass bottle - with photo tutorial - *13 arts*

Today I have this tutorial for you.
With photos I will show you, step by step, how I created this glass bottle.

I started this project by glueing kitchen paper towel to the bottle with the gel medium.

Didn't want to cover the whole bottle with the paper so I only covered the side and top.

Covered the rest of the bottle with gesso.

A simple kitchen sponge works perfectly and gives a nice and even layer.

All covered with gesso.

Wanted to add another texture.

Mixed some gesso and glass filler.

Added the gesso and glass filler on some places.

All done and waiting for some paints! :)

I added the paints directly from the bottle with the nozzle.

Let the colors run. If you want it to run some more just spray some water on the paint.
Just love the texture of the paper towel!

Also painting the top.

All ready!

Thought it didn't need much more embellishments
so I only added the tulle flower and the twigs, also in the 13 arts store.

And here are some details:

Hope you all liked this tutorial and got inspired!

May challenge *13Arts*

A layout of me for a change!
A photo taken on a vacation to Greece.....simply me, simply happy!
This layout is for the new 13arts challenge.
If you want to play too, here is all the information: challenge-30- 13arts

I used a mix of gesso and the new 13 arts product, Magic powder,  for the background.

To get this effect: take some gesso and keep adding some of the magic powder until it's just smooth enough to add it to the paper with a spatula. It's a very thick mixture.
The thicker the mixture the more cracks.
Just love the way the paints run into those cracks!

Used some metallic blue paint from 13arts for the wooden letters.

The lovely scrapberry's swirls, also in the 13arts store.

Randomly applied some blue paint at the twigs as well.
This awesome new product, magic powder, can be used with all kinds of paints!
