altered clock *13 arts*

Don't you just love when a project turns out exactly how you visualized it in your head?!!
This altered clock is one of those projects.
I knew the colors and the feel of how it had to look and I just love how it turned out!

Started this clock by glueing some kitchen paper towel with 13arts acrylic gel medium.
Added all the embellishments, buttons, pearls and gears, and give it two coats with 13arts gesso.
Painted with my favorite color, turquoise and a touch of pink.
After all the paints I added the flowers:
some paper flowers, mini roses, handmade thread flowers and the gorgeous tulle flower form 13arts.
The paper flowers were given a touch with gesso as well because I wanted a more softer look.
Also added a metal butterfly and some twigs.

Left side of the clock.
As you can see I let the design run through the left side as well.

Did the same on the right side.

The gorgeous tulle flower from 13arts.

The metal butterfly is from a Dutch home decor store.

The painted chipboard gears, buttons, pearls and metal mini flowers.
After all the paints I gave them all a touch with gesso for a more softer look.

Top and left side.

Those big paper flowers were in my stash forever and after a good coat with gesso
they matched this project perfectly!

drawers with hearts *Maja Design*

Today I want to share this project with you.
These drawers were made with the gorgeous new collection from Maja design, Summer Crush.

I took the blue and light brown colors for these drawers.

Had these chipboard hearts in my stash for a long time and finally found use for them.
They were also decorated with the papers.
Distressed all the edges.

One drawer with wooden heart and button.

Also found this metal heart in my stash.
The white polymer sea items are from Scrapberry's.

I used a lid of a small chipboard box to create some hight for the second heart.

Made some thread flowers to match the colors.

Some found seashells.

 Used some netting and gauze.

A small frame from Scrapberry's.

button 26x26cm *13 Arts*

Today I have a big wooden button for you.
It measures 26x26cm.
Found this one at a local florist store along with the small wooden buttons.
Had a lot of fun making this! :)

I started this project by gluing some kitchen paper towel with gesso.
This is to create some more texture.
Added the buttons and gave it a coat with gesso before all the paints.
Splattered some splashes with the black Splash ink.

The wooden buttons and the small ones from my stash.

Once the paints are dry I applied some gesso around the edges of the buttons.

The word 'fly' comes from the fly away collection, the sticker sheet.
Added my favorite 13arts twigs!

White metal butterfly is from a Dutch store, Xenos.

The beautiful black tulle flower, also from the 13 arts store.

13arts challenge #32 vacation

Hi everyone!
I am hosting this months challenge at 13arts.
This challenge is all about your vacation.
Whether you spend it in far away places or relaxing at your home,
spending time with family and/or friends or just having some 'me time',
being active or just relaxing at a beach,
maybe it's the best time to read all the books you've been wanting to read for a long time,
or spending the vacation creating.
Every vacation has a story and I want to know what's yours!
You can join us here: challenge 13arts
For me the best vacations are with hubby.
We loved our vacation with our girls but since a couple of years,
they are old enough to go on their own with their boyfriends.
Since then, hubby and I really enjoy our time together.
We love our trips to Greece and enjoy every minute!

Took a smaller canvas and took off the fabric so I only had the frame.
Created this background with a mix of gesso and 13arts magic powder.
Made it really thick so I get all of these great crackles!

Painted the 13arts paper flowers.
Once dry I gave them a touch of gesso.

Some shells.

Just love the crackles!

I randomly applied some of the matte cocoa paint with my fingers.

The lovely metal word sign from Scrapberry's, also in 13 arts store.

layout for my girl *Maja Design*

Remember my layout for my youngest girl?
Today I have this page for my oldest, Tessa.
Made it with the Vintage Baby collection from Maja design.

My girl......so special.

Created this page with a mix of gesso and 13arts magic powder.
Made this mix extra thick to get the big cracks which I love.

The heart got the same treatment as the background.
Added some blue paint.
The big splatters were created with Distress stain, Stormy sky.

Lots of dimension!

Clock with handle and flowers from Prima.

Some of the flowers were painted with the blue paint as well.

A piece of the bottom strip from the Ephemera cards sheet.

Papers used:
Sweet little Prince, Journaling cards, Die cuts, Ephemera cards.

Enjoy your day!
